CDS Exam Overview

What is CDS exam 


CDS (Combined Defence Services) Exam is a competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India. It is conducted twice a year, generally in the months of February and November, for the recruitment of officers into the Indian Armed Forces, including the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.


CDS exam is open to both male and female candidates who have completed their graduation. The exam consists of a written test followed by an interview process. The written test includes questions on English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics, and is conducted in an offline mode. The interview process evaluates the candidate's personality, communication skills, and suitability for a career in the armed forces.


CDS is a highly competitive exam, and candidates need to prepare well to clear it. Successful candidates are inducted as officers in various branches of the Indian Armed Forces, including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers' Training Academy (OTA).
